From the Artist: With this piece, the word soft consistently stayed in my mind. I love bold colors and dramatic fabric, but the challenge was figuring out how I could embody both while still creating something that felt soft.
In my mind, she has run away from the crowd, maybe from a garden tea party, for just a moment to breathe and be by herself. She's aware of her surroundings, almost afraid of being caught, but completely at ease among the flowers.
Her emerald dress becomes part of the landscape, while the wisteria surrounds and shelters her. She is an extension of the garden, not the people around her.
